The photos follow one front entry from the old stone steps to a new set of steps and a tiled landing beside a black metal railing.

- What
- Front steps and a porch landing
- GDE's role
- GDE did the full job
Before and after
The old stone steps at the front of the house, and the new pale grey steps with a black metal railing that replaced them.

Taking it apart
The old steps are broken down to their concrete core beside a brick wall, with the rubble left at the base.

Building it back
A new concrete landing, and a timber form with steel reinforcing bars for the stepped wall. Pale stone treads are then set on the concrete steps.

The landing
Each slab is laid on a combed bed of mortar, with green spacer crosses marking the joints. Edges are cut with a grinder at a cutting bench.

Finished
Pale grey steps rise to a landing with a black metal railing, and the landing is tiled.
